| About Watkins Since 1943 Watkins Removals & Storage have been established as a family run Tasmanian owned and operated business and has expanded from a 'one man operation' to a company that now employs over 20 staff. We have over 12 vehicles in our fleet ranging from interstate trucks to local delivery vans which help service the current market wishing to move locally, intrastate, interstate and overseas. Since the company was founded by Claude Watkins over 60 years ago the company has evolved considerably. In 2004 the Watkins family retired from the moving industry with Greg Johnston purchasing the successful business. Since 2004 the Johnston family have advanced Watkins Removals technologically with the implementation of a specialist computer based removalist program called Moveware. Then in 2005 Watkins Removals became a proud member of the Australian Furniture Removers Association (AFRA) and are fast becoming the biggest locally owned removalist company in Tasmania. Collectively the staff at Watkins Removals have over 100 years experience in the removal industry.
